The American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) seeks an Editor for the APSAC Advisor and the APSAC Alert.

The Advisor is a quarterly news journal for professionals in the field of child abuse and neglect. The publication provides succinct, data-based, practice-oriented articles that keep interdisciplinary professionals informed of the latest developments in policy and practice in the field of child maltreatment. It is designed to highlight best practices in the field and publish original articles and current information about child maltreatment for professionals from a variety of backgrounds including medicine, law enforcement, social work, law, child protection services, psychology, public health and prevention in the U.S.

The APSAC Alert examines empirical research and/or discusses timely topics and translates those concepts and ideas into approaches that are useful and practical for front-line child-serving professionals, including child protective investigators, law enforcement personnel, attorneys, judges, forensic interviewers, victim/witness assistants, or other allied professionals. The Alert takes key concepts from articles published in the Advisor or Child Maltreatment or other sources, synthesizes the information in a way that is understandable and usable, and distills it into a one- or two-page format to inform readers and improve front-line practice. The frequency of the Alert has varied, but it has appeared as frequently as every quarter.
