Please join APSAC in congratulating Dr. Anne Troy for the Outstanding Frontline Professional Award. For over four decades, Dr. Anne Troy has exemplified unwavering dedication to protecting vulnerable children and advancing the field of child maltreatment prevention.
A board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, forensic nurse, and associate professor of nursing, Anne has spent her distinguished career on the front lines of care, education, and advocacy for children who have experienced abuse.
At the Morgan Rae Center for Hope at Children’s Hospital New Orleans, Anne provides expert forensic assessments, treatment, and advocacy for hundreds of children each year, ensuring compassionate, trauma-informed care for those impacted by abuse and exploitation. Her expertise is widely recognized in courtrooms across Louisiana, where she provides critical expert testimony in child maltreatment cases.
Beyond her clinical work, Anne is a tireless educator, training the next generation of nurses and healthcare professionals to recognize, prevent, and respond to child maltreatment. Her research spans critical topics, from the impact of vicarious trauma on jurors to primary prevention strategies for abuse, and her work has been shared on national and international stages. Anne’s commitment to preventing abuse extends into communities through her extensive public education, including her children’s book My Mimi is a Freckle Detective, which empowers families with tools to prevent sexual abuse. Dr. Troy’s lifelong dedication to frontline care, education, and prevention embodies the very spirit of this award.
